Amazon’s Fire Phone takes on 3D but will it be enough?
Amazon is a dominant force in the market that provides an abundance of services. Being the 10th most visited website has its perks, Amazon has become a behemoth in e-book sales via the kindle and it’s advertising abilities. Amazon’s newest pursuit is implementing 3D display technology into the Amazon Fire phone.
Is this the first time someone has created a 3D display phone? No.
Currently the 3D portion of the application market does not yield any impressive numbers, but the idea is that Amazon’s new take on their Fire phone will increase this demand.
Furthermore, while this is a step in the right direction, Amazon does not offer some large convenience. It also appears that Apple has not contributed much since the fingerprint scanner. From a personal point of view, the main thing that brings the Fire phone into question is whether the software and hardware are reliable and more durable compared to its competitors.
According to the Bloomberg article, analysts expect a light demand for the phone. Phones such as the HTC, Nokia, and especially Apple have established themselves as the bigger players when it comes to cellphones. The main concern is that Apple tends to take the biggest piece out of the pie with cellphone sales. So with new applications that let you take pictures of products and purchase them on Amazon or 3D effects, do you believe that Amazon could join the competition as a respectable competitor or will the hype of 3D effects be stifled by a competitor that has not fully established itself as a dominant force in cellphone sales?
