Any good books/ articles for basics of institutional equity trading at a broker-dealer?
I work in Operations at a small broker-dealer and asked one of the traders if I could sit with him in my free time to learn the desk. Luckily he said yes. Are there any good books or articles on the basics of institutional equity trading at a broker-dealer? Learning the basics of the order/ execution process as well as the bloomberg/ thompson screens that they use prior to sitting with him would be useful. Also, any articels on the lingo- terminology they use would be helpful. I've been working in Ops on the trading floor at various broker- dealers for a few years so I'm not completely new to what they do, but I would like to buy a book that explains the process of institutional trading and am having trouble finding one... closest thing ive found was "Trading & Exchanges" by Larry Harris. Any thoughts/ suggestions?
