Is This Obama's Last Chance?
First and foremost, I want to wish WSO a happy New Year and an ever more prosperous 2011. This is my first official blog entry and I couldnt help but do it on New Years.
Every New Year I have a much anticipated father-son talk in the morning with my father as we try to wither away our uncomfortable hangover. The usual conversation starts with politics and ends with economics. As I watch my dad go into a fury talking about the discontent with the what the Obama administration has produced so far, I noticed that not only am I looking more and more like my father, but also starting to agree with him much more frequently.
My father believes that Obama has pretty much lost his chance at re-election. Former trader and author of Global Macro Monitor blog Gary Evans states the contrary in this article in the WSJ. Evans is optimistic about the economy, which will help boost Obama's popularity amongst society.

Although i am bullish about the economy breaking its GDP estimates for 2011, I dont see this saving Obama and ultimately salvaging the public confidence needed to re-elect him into office for 2012.
So what do you think gentleman? Do you see new life for Obama if the economy heats up in 2011? or is it set in stone, he will be ousted?
I think the economy improving seals his reelection. Plus, the Tea Party will screw the GOP by nominating someone too socially conservative. All in all, I think Obama's done a pretty damn good job, esp. considering who his predecessor is.
If the dollar crisis goes into its acute stages over the next 18 months, Obama is finished.
I'm going to write in Ron Paul again in 2012. If this country had any sense, it would have been a Paul-Kucinich matchup in '08. The rest of the GOP and Dem field is a pack of corporate prostitutes.
