The Energy Rodeo: 30 days away

Just to remind you guys the Energy Rodeo in Houston is now only a month away. For those of you who haven't registered, take a look here for a breakdown of the festivities.

I generally don't like to publicize, but I think this event can be huge for some of you younger guys. If you are coming from a non-traditional background, go to a non-target or are just looking to explore some alternative options, this event is definitely for you.

As a matter of fact, for many of you guys who complain about the lack of a fair playing field in finance (you're absolutely correct, btw) this event is a great chance to take your destiny into your own hands and make some inroads towards the industry.

I also think it will also be a great time and a chance to enjoy some decent weather for all of you Yanks out there.

In preparation for this event I am going to be posting a series of topics related to energy and commodity markets. Hopefully, for those of you guys who are interested in the industry we can broach a few topics that you may find intriguing and explore on your own.

Remember, there will be people at the Rodeo who you will have a chance to impress. Decision makers. The sorts of people some of you are dying to meet and speak to.

I would suggest treating this event as not just an opportunity to network and learn, but to compete, as well.

Energy and commodities related finance have always been important, but I have a strong feeling they will take an even more central role in years to come.

Join Monty09 and his all-left handed infield for a weekend of opportunity which will hopefully lead to success for many of you.

Life is what you make it monkeys...

One month from today.

For those of you who are not familiar with this picture, it is a spider monkey riding (strapped onto) a sheep dog. This can be found amongst many other spectacles here http://www.angolarodeo.com/?q=Events

Inmates who have been on "good" behavior are allowed to compete in various events against bulls. Keep in mind these guys have zero training and nothing to lose. With the incentive to win a few bucks these guys risk life and limb and the event climaxs in the inmates that are left standing trying to grab a poker chip off a raging bulls forehead. Probably saw 15-20 unconscious bodies carted off on stretchers...only in Louisiana
