Private Equity Recruiting Season
Post By @skylinegtr94

How is everyone doing managing their interview schedules? I'm very curious to hear how people negotiate positions that won't be starting until summer 2016 as well. Any success stories in the making from the forums?

The right way to approach an informational interview
Post By @guyfromct

Send me a thank you email after the call, as it's common courtesy and being courteous is important. In an informational interview I am deciding mostly on fit, so not demonstrating that will kill your chances.

How to reject offers (not reneging) politely and professionally?
Post By @zentiger

How do I navigate this? Do I tell the places where I will be going, or just leave it vague?

I plan on just sending some thoughtful emails, but maybe I should call as well (at least for the MDs who went out of their way to congratulate me)? Especially for the higher ups (MDs) that have reached out and put pressure on me to sign, I want to not burn any bridges since the street is small.

A success story built on failure
Post By @marchismad

During my consulting internship, I was able to request a traveling assignment for the summer as I was staying on the floor of an alumni’s apartment. This is the summer when I found my passion for client service. Helping business owners was fulfilling to me, and I loved the intellectual challenge it presented.

Life isn’t perfect just because you think you are. Be nice to people and always try to help them out. If you can’t be any of the above, be hungry. To reach your goals, you can’t have a backup plan.

Charles Aris 2015 Strategy Consulting Compensation Study released
Post By @opsdude1

I've seen a lot of questions about salary progression and exit-ops salaries for ex-consultants. I found this, it is very helpful.

Best US cities to LIVE in?
Post By @mark198

Out of these cities with notable finance, or any you can think of, what cities would you most like to live in all professional reasons aside? Just considering things such as nightlife, diversity, cost of living, weather, etc.

Powerball
Post By @Scott Irish

The powerball jackpot is creeping up toward half a billion ($485 mill last I checked). I know you're all rational, numbers driven people, and we're all more likely to die in a terrible heavy machinery accident than win, etc, etc. But be honest, who said screw it and threw in a few bucks?
