In 2002, the practice was spun out of Andersen and re-branded as Capstone Partners LLC. Since that time, Capstone has become recognized as one of the premier national middle market investment banking firms.

Capstone has fueled its success with some of the industry’s best talent. We have expanded our team by drawing from many larger firms, including JP Morgan, Lehman Brothers, Morgan Stanley, Citigroup, H.I.G. Capital, Robertson Stephens, KPMG, Mesirow Financial, Adams Harkness & Hill and Needham & Company. In 2010, Capstone acquired the middle market M&A practice of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, extending our footprint into Chicago, Los Angeles and Philadelphia. Additionally, Capstone opened a New York office in 2011.
