ICG Summer Technology Analyst

Citi came to my university during a career fair in mid September. I handed my resume to one of the recruiters and was contacted early October to attend a webinar. After not hearing anything for about a month, I was contacted late November for super day event. After the interview process, I was given an offer a week later.

The superday consists of four 30 minute 1 on 1 interviews. The overall interview was very different from what I was used to. I am a computer science major, and I thought they were going to test more on more technical questions, but instead it felt more like like a personality test.

The first interviewer asked regarding about my interest in the financial business, why I decided to apply for this position, what my interests were, and etc. He also asked regarding how I got into the major, and wanted to know why I pursued it.

The second interviewer asked me to go through my resume with him. When I briefly described everything, he came up with a problem for me to think about to test my problem solving skills.

The third interviewer asked me to describe a project that I did. I went over the process and he decides to pick out a specific part and test my knowledge of it.

The fourth interviewer asked me to choose a project and asked why I like that project so much, and tested a bit on data structures and simple algorithms.
