M&A Summer Analyst

I study at a target school and was contacted after applying online (they come every year to our career day). First round was on campus: 2 interviews (1 with VP + 1 with Associate). Competency based questions + intense technical questions: valuation case using DCF, sum of the parts, IRR, NPV etc.
Final round at their London office consisted of 5 activities: 1 numerical test, 1 financial times case, 1 case study, 2 personal interviews. Numerical test is shorter than the online test (same format, I would say even easier). Financial times case consists of an exercise in which you have 30 mins to read the FT of the day and come up with 3 money making ideas for the firm which you will later discuss with interviewer. The case study is a potential acquisition in which you are advising a company and there are 5 targets, objective is to select only 1. The rest of the interviews were very competency focused.
