Investment Banking Summer Analyst

The process started with an HR representative sending me an email, which informed me that my application was being reviewed. Two weeks later I was flying out for 'first rounds' — yes, they flew me out for first rounds — in NYC. I was told that decisions would be made on which candidates would advance to second rounds, which were to be held the following day. A few hours after my interview I heard from HR informing me that I was not chosen for position. After receiving feedback from an alumnus, I was told that an individual with more senior support was chosen over me, despite my performance during the interview.
