Credit Risk Review Analyst
General Interview Information
Interview Details
The first round interview is a phone interview. I interviewed with Vice President of the group for 30 minutes, and then with two analysts for another 30 minutes. The interview focused on both technical (accounting, credit risk, business valuation) and fit (teamwork, work under pressure ...). The VP probably cared more about fit. I nailed the interview, felt very good. Received invitation to 2nd round by the end of the week.
Second round interview. Format: online, video conference. I interviewed with the group's MD in NY, 2 people in London, 2 other analysts in SLC. 30 minutes each. The MD just wanted to have a casual conversation, mainly asking about activities on resume. The other interviews are basically similar to interviews in the first round. Many questions were repeated. I felt I did well on the interviews (just as well as the last round) but did not receive the offer.
Basically, the Credit Risk Review group is a very small group with around 10 people. One MD in NY, ~ 7 in SLC, 2-3 in London. The group controls the quality of other Credit Risk groups. They pick random works of other Credit Risk groups and do their own analysis to see if those groups meet the quality standard. Culture seems to be laid back, not competitive, close-knitted. Quite long hours.
