Please describe the interview / hiring process.
After being referred to HR, I was scheduled for a phone interview with a securities HR representative the following week. The phone interview was 25 minutes long and consisted entirely of resume based questions, a question on the state of the macroeconomy. and a stock pitch. I heard back the following week with a Superday invite at the Jersey City office. Superday consisted of three 30 minute interviews back to back. Two were one-on-one and the last was two-on-one. I interviewed with two analysts, a VP, and an MD. First interview was strictly pre-rehearsed questions (ex. Tell me about yourself, why Goldman Sachs, etc.). The second interview revolved more around extracurricular involvement and personally experiences studying abroad. Final interview (2-on-1) was the most technical as they grilled me on rudimentary understanding of bond risks/behavior since I indicated fixed income experience on resume. Overall the interviews were not difficult as long as you can talk about you resume in incredible depth and have a story as to why you want to work in S&T and at Goldman Sachs. Ultimately I received no offer due to the small class size of the sophomore program and its competitive nature.
