Summer Analyst

Goldman posted a position on my school's Career Services web page, I applied via the site; I was studying abroad at the time, so I was asked to schedule a phone interview; interviewer was very polite, asked several basic questions, "What would you invest $1 million dollars in today?", "Where do you see the economy in one year?", "Explain to me how QE affects the currency and bond markets," + basic fit questions; I was asked to list my preference for which division of GSAM I would most like to intern in; Overall positive experience, although all other candidates who were in the U.S. at the time went through an in-person first round (the position was for NYC), which may have hurt my chances, so in retrospect I would have asked to interview in-person at a European GS office if given the opportunity.
