Please describe the interview / hiring process.
Interview process consisted with an initial phone interview. The phone interview was pretty simple and general. I received an email a couple of weeks later stated that I had made it to the final round which would be taking place in person in the Goldman Sachs SLC downtown office. The in-person interviews consisted of two back-to-back rounds of two-on-one. They were all VP’s, no junior analysts. There were a few technical and a few behavioral questions. On the technical, they kept digger deeper to determine the level of knowledge in the subject. They stopped the technical by saying “Well, we will not go any deeper since that seems to be the extent of you knowledge on this subject.” The questions were also very heavily based on resume specific material, so know your resume. They wanted to see a passion for the job, company and industry. Even though it was a Credit Risk interview, they wanted to know what sector I was following in finance industry and what particular company I was interested it. This was the most difficult question for me, as I was finishing up finals, and I really had not been following anything as I was so focused on school work and finals. This question I feel is what I was dinged on.
