Financial Internship Program

The interview process for Liberty Mutual was very structured and orderly, much like the company itself. The entire process was run by a head recruiter who was incredibly sweet, personable, and understanding of all of the applicants' needs. After the students met the recruiter at their respective career fairs, those selected attended a first round 1 on 1 interview at their campus with the recruiting team. Again, the recruiters were very professional but charming and kind at the same time. These first round interviews were entirely behavioral and aimed at finding the students who had the "Liberty" personality. Those that were selected attended a small Superday interview (there were two batches of these groups consisting of about 20 students each for only 20 open spots total), which consisted of two 1 on 1 interviews with full time employees (typically managers and VP's) and a Q&A session with the program director. These interviews were still behavioral, but they were digging deeper for concrete accomplishments, results, and proof of why you can make a difference in the company. In my opinion, the full time employees were a lot more "insurance-y" than the recruiters; they were still nice but much more serious and uninterested in small talk. The students that were selected were then called a week later by the head recruiter and given an exploding offer (1 week to accept or decline).
