Please describe the interview / hiring process.
I was initially made aware of the position through an on campus recruiting event put on by an alumni of my school involved in the process who petitioned to be allowed to present to us to begin with. He was the only one there explaining a bit about the company but also giving a basic overview of what investment banking is and making himself a resource to us if we so chose. It's a non-target school.

He asked me to send my resume to him and he sent it right on to HR who asked me of my availability for the first round and told me to fill out their formal application as it is used in part of the process.

The process this year is two rounds. The first is very basic going over your resume. Because of my related experience, we spent most of the time talking about only the related experience on my resume. Due to the applicability of the experience, the only technical question was tracing depreciation through the income statements. The other questions were about my related experience and why investment banking. This took up the 25 minutes. There was somebody from restructuring and from FIG on the call as there are 1 and 2 positions open respectively.

Following this, this had me take a personality test. It included a reading comprehension section, a basic math, a logic test and the personality test. Doing well with this, I was asked to move on to the second round.

My impression is that they are very much about fit. They have a very small office in Chicago and are looking to fill it with guys they want to be around the 60-80 hours a week that was suggested as normal (compared to them saying 80-100 is normal for New York). They provide 4 weeks of training in New York followed by 2 more weeks of additional training due to the differences in typical modeling and FIG modeling.
