Please describe the interview / hiring process.
First interview was on campus and consisted of two interviewers who were very relaxed and just asked some basic resume questions such as why did I choose to major in Finance, what did I like about some of my hobbies, what did I think about my relevant course work, etc... Then they asked some basic market related questions such as where is the price of gold, oil, S&P. Then where do I see the market going in the next 6 months to a year. After that I was invited to the final round interview at the corporate headquarters in New York. The recruiters were very helpful and allowed me to sit on the trading floor with them and discuss the market and help prepare for the eventual interviews later in the day. The interviews consisted of four different interviewers which lasted around 20 to 30 minutes each. Three of the four interviews were very laid back and just asked some fit questions regarding what attributes would a good salesperson or trader have, whats your biggest weakness, how do you deal with stress. My last interviewer was definitely the bad cop out of the bunch and as he immediately introduced himself he began to prod me with questions about the markets. This consisted of my views of the euro, a compounding interest question with treasuries, and some basic trading strategies involving if the Fed does this what would you do? How would you hedge? After that he was extremely nice and said I had a keen understanding of the markets.
