Initial communication with three firm sponsors over the phone, then flew to NY to have sit down interviews with the group while they attended their annual consumer conference. The interview itself was not very structured and focused primarily on fit vs. skills. The team seemed to be competent and narrowly focused on a handful of transaction sectors (restaurants, retail, lifestyle brands, etc.). I was impressed by the team and what they are trying to accomplish, but ultimately they chose to bring back an employee who had transferred to another office.
