Simply put, as a company gets more reviews, the confidence of a "true score" increases so it is pulled closer to its simple average and away from the average of the entire dataset.

Interview
I applied through a resume drop on my school's career website and received an invitation for an on-campus interview two weeks later. The interview was with an analyst and a VP.
Interview Questions
None of the questions were incredibly difficult or complex. I had a prior internship experience in equity research and they asked me to describe my internship and how I went about my recommendations. They also me about non-finance related activities on my resume and how those would help me as an analyst. They really pried through your resume and made sure you could defend any talking point. They asked me to describe any previous experiences and the conversation drifted into me talking about a lot of things that weren't on my resume.

Interview
Introduced myself to an on-campus recruiter. Within a couple weeks I had an interview setup at the Midtown office—which is quite a nice office. The duration of my time there lasted about 2.5 hours, and I interviewed with HR, a member of sales, and two partners. Nearly everything was fit-based with basic conversations about markets and companies I like to follow. All four people were extremely easy to talk to and their professionalism/demeanor confirmed what I understood about Redburn prior to the fact—which was that this company is made up of great people who care about the work they do and are damn-good at it. The buy-side has a tremendous amount of respect for the firm, and the business model is one of few that promotes deep understanding of the coverage universe among the sales staff in addition to the hardcore research foundations laid out by their equity research division (which is in London). All around it was a great experience.

If you're interviewing with the firm you need to prove that you know the company and have a good reason for wanting to work there. They're a small shop, and they're growing fast. They really can't afford to make mistakes in hiring, so they're going to want people who believe in the Redburn vision and want to be part of that growth story.
