Please describe the interview / hiring process.
Overall, the interview process was good. I've interviewed with other investment banks and Wells was very similar to other top 5 IBs.
1. I did a phone interview with one of the associates from Wells
2. On-Campus interview with 1 associate and 3rd year analyst
3. Final round interview was in SF and it took the whole day. Starting from 8am to 4pm. I met with at least 8 people (1 on 1 interviews)
After i got an offer, I was invited to NC and met with all the groups. They asked me about my preference (geography, group, coverage group or product group).
If the group likes and you like them then they will give you an offer with that specific group. I chose TMT in SF because I love tech but a lot of my peers stayed in NC because they are the legacy Wachovia investment bank (one of the group heads sit in NC as well).
Overall, I think Wells has a great potential to become a great IB because of their balance sheet and ability to expand (acquire) other talents on the street.
