Simple phone screen with HR. The a 4h superday at their office. One-on-one behaviorial with HR, two-on-one with future colleagues, standard consulting case and finally a qualitative case where you have to make and present a powerpoint.
Interview Questions
You need to know about the energy industry at a decent level. It is an energy shop so that should be obvious. You don't need to know any detailed information or even anything particular about upstream/midstream/downstream/renewables, but you do need to understand the macro picture and outlook for the industry.

Overall it was a very easy interview as far as consulting goes. The case was quite simple. The future colleagues you interview with are very nice people. Just definitely indicate interest in the energy industry.

Interview Questions
They asked me to do a Python test and SQL test.
Python test is to convert the format of an excel file. The good thing is you are allowed to Google online, and you are given 1 hr to finish. So it's quite easy to completed.

For fit question, one unexpected interview question is asking is there anything about your ex-boss/colleague you don't like?
Other question is quite basic, such as how much you know about this company? Why you applied? And what are the programming language you use? What are the project experience you have.

Interview Questions
There were no unexpected questions during my summer intern interview. Their questions are based on my resume and some behavioral interview. Definitely, the team attached importance to Excel or data analytical skills. During the interview, the manager and consultant asked whether I am comfortable with using Excel and dealing with data, what's my favorite excel function. I think most of the interview questions are regular questions. While I think I didn't prepare well for this interview and behave a little bit unprepared for the inter

Straight forward process, starts with a phone interview which progresses to an in-person interview with the hiring manager.
Interview Questions
Fair bit of SQL questions as well as general market knowledge is required. Questions regarding specifics in Oil and Gas were limited but knowing how to process information and estimate unknowns is crucial. Far fewer technical questions than I had anticipated. Mostly stuck to fit and personality questions as well as gaining insight into how you fit in with the team as a whole. Went through resumue in detail and asked to elaborate on many points mentioned within. additionally required IQ test prior to interview.

Went through 4 rounds of interview, with two lunches and two presentations. Case presentation required me to project 4 different scenarios based on the data provided.
Interview Questions
Data of various countries demand and supply were given, and I was asked to give a presentation on four potential scenarios of the world by 2030. I was given 30 minutes to prepare for the presentation and a whiteboard behind me. The whole consulting joined to watch the presentation and ask Q&A at the end. Questions included what additional material I would need to better answer this question, what are the drivers to each of the scenarios and how I reached each scenario. Finally, they asked if I believed in one scenario more than the other and why.

Interview
Basic screening phone call out of the blue (Why Wood Mackenzie?, My background). Then referred to an online skills test. Then a first round interview with HR, followed by a written assessment (What are two key themes in commodities markets). Final round interview with head consultants.
Interview Questions
Timed extended response writing (30mins). Q: Discuss two key current themes in the commodities markets. The difficulty lay in the ambiguity of the question, and the style of response required. My approach was to write down every tiny detail I knew out as quickly as possible, at the expense of writing style. Seemed to work.

Interview
Applied via campus recruiting. Interviewers from the company came to my campus to conduct in-person interviews. I interviewed with the head of Latin America Upstream Research. The interview consisted primarily of fit questions, and a few oil and gas economics/current events questions. My advice to any candidates applying for the internship program on any of the upstream research teams would be to network, but mainly come prepared knowing oil and gas concepts and be up-to-date on industry knowledge. For the most part, everyone at Wood Mac is extremely intelligent in areas of finance, oil and gas, economics, etc.
Interview Questions
Nothing crazy since I was interviewing for an internship position, but I got a few questions in which they tried to gauge my skills in excel, and understanding of the oil and gas industry. Some of the questions included:

Do you know how use the vlookup function in Excel?
What do you know about the current oil and gas upstream environment? What are some recent events that have impacted the industry?

The interview process starts with a set of two tests similar to SAT format. The verbal one if fairly straight forward and the math one is a bit more complicated, primarily because it is longer. This is followed by a phone screen with the basic interview questions. If you make it past that round, you receive an invitation to attend an interview day at their offices. This consists of analyzing a case study and presenting it to two senior level people. You also have a behavioral interview, a more work-related interview, and an group exercise where 3-5 woodmac people watch you interact with other interviewees.
Interview Questions
What are the fiscal factors currently affecting oil prices?
How do states differ in their taxation of oil and natural gas?
