Founded by industry veteran Mark Gorenberg in 2013, Zetta Venture Partners aims to build a portfolio that includes some of the best, most high-potential analytics-based companies.

The current data deluge is being generated by everything, everywhere including sensors and a multitude of devices, social media, VoIP and enterprise data. As the volume and velocity of data continues to proliferate, so does the need and opportunity to find value in it through analytics. Whether focused on disrupting healthcare and medicine, improving traffic flow in cities, reinvigorating education, advancing agriculture, or driving more revenue for business, the appetite for analytics will not be satiated for decades. This means the zettabyte era includes long lasting opportunity for investment.

Prior to Zetta Venture Partners, Mark served as managing director at Hummer Winblad, the first focused fund for enterprise software. There, his most publicized successes in analytics included Omniture (IPO and acquired by Adobe); AdForce (IPO and acquired by CMGI) and Scopus Technologies (IPO and acquired by Seibel Systems). Today, he has invested and sits on the boards of the next generation of leading companies like Domo and Inside Sales.

Zetta’s first fund is targeting 12 seed and early-stage enterprise investments. Notable investments include: Content Analytics (real-time insights for eCommerce), Ender Labs (iOS Development Studio), EventBoard (meeting rooms management), InsideSales.com (SAAS platform with a machine learning approach to accelerate sales) and Lucid Design Group (maker of BuildingOS, the first operating system for commercial buildings).
