-- How is banking relevant to starting a company? You learn to work hard, prioritize, pay attention to details, leverage your network, and make educated guesses/estimates necessary to put together a business plan.
-- FinTech: ripe for disruption. While many consumer pain-points can be solved by anyone regardless of their professional background, you as a banking analyst have insight into domain-specific pain points that have yet to be fixed by technology.
-- Test before leaving your job: Don't jump ship prematurely. Conduct low-fidelity tests to explore the market for your startup idea before leaving your comfortable job. In my case, I tested my market during my MBA, so we were in a position to bring on our first paying customers and raise a seed round within 3 months after graduation.
