If anybody is looking to buy, now is the time... I guess they are coming out with new models, but who cares :)

Just bought these in black:

My first AE shoes... hope they are worth it...

Where do you buy seconds?

Can I go to the Tanger in Riverhead to physically inspect them before purchasing? Or are they sold from somewhere online?

I think you need to call and ask about availability in your sizing. They should be willing to ship them. There is a thread somewhere on slickdeals but I can't find it at the moment.

"For I am a sinner in the hands of an angry God. Bloody Mary full of vodka, blessed are you among cocktails. Pray for me now and at the hour of my death, which I hope is soon. Amen."

Thanks for sharing. My favorite brand of shoes. I own 12 pairs myself. Recently I was shopping at Jos A Bank store and met a guy who claims to own 270 pairs of AE shoes. He used to run AE store for many years. He wears AA size which is pretty rare and literally wears different shoes most days of the year. He has an amazing collection of dress shoes and golf shoes. I saw the photos, they barely fit in his house.

That's what I am asking myself. Where does all that hate come from. All these posts are as neutral as they can get.

I will connect the dots for you.

You claimed to have 12 pairs of AEs, yet shops at Jos A Bank for clothing.

You turned down an unpaid internship at a solid MM M&A shop for a paid at a no name boutique, partially because you didn't think you should have to work for free (which is fair, if money is a concern).

You comment on posts outside of your realm, regarding MBAs, PE firms, etc. when you aren't even a first-year analyst.

That being said, I think you provide value to this site b/c you started helpful posts, particularly those revolving around recruitment. The site needs the young and energetic posters, but you just have to tame it back a bit.

But, you should be able to see how this rubs some the wrong way (I happen to know a poster or two that is slinging in your threads).

Cedar shoe trees are $20... both the AE & other shoe models.

The Park Ave's are only discounted to $295 pre-tax... the 5th Avenues to $235. If the PAs were the latter price I would've got them in merlot.

I really like this Rutledge shoe in walnut: http://www.allenedmonds.com/aeonline/producti_SF7603_1_40000000001_-1 but its expensive and I already own two other AE shoes in the same color.

I think all of the cordovan's are discounted to $500. If I wasn't so frugal I would consider the PAs in burgundy.

I would advise to buy shoe trees at Jos A Bank when they have 2 for 1 sale. 2 pairs for $25 and even cheaper 2 times a year 50% off. I also bought couple pairs at the Nordstrom Rack on discount for $12. Jos A Bank's shoe trees smell really nice like cedar and it doesn't wear off so I bought them for all my shoes. I would highly recommend them. Once you shell out $300-$500 for a pair of shoes, a pair of shoe trees will be advised to protect leather and shape of your shoes.

AE shoe trees are worth it. I got mine on Amazon for probably around $20 (maybe just under), free shipping.

Received my 5th Ave a few days ago... perfect fit..Normal trees are a little too big in my opinion...
Also, it seems the leather can break easily... hope I'm wrong....
But the style is just amazing...

It's very unlikely the leather on your 5th Aves will break. They are a well made shoe from a good quality leather. As long as you polish them once in a while and keep them far from water they will serve well. So peinvestor2012 is right, as long as your AEs are not fakes there is no way the leather can break.

Picked up a pair in Walnut for ~$190, great deal with the Amazong 20% coupon. They were sold out of my size so I went for a slighlty narrow size, hopefully it fits

details on coupon?
