1st year Bulge Bracket Asset Management pay (from undergrad)
Hey, I haven't really seen much pay scale info for Bulge bracket bank Asset Management pay for the 1st year out of undergrad. Any body have an idea what base and bonus looks like for the first couple of years? Thanks
Bump?
also interested!
I'm not sure about bonuses (may vary) but I do know that all analysts at BB AMs get base of 85k (up from 70k a few years ago), with probably incremental increases in base over the course of the analyst program.
Oh thats pretty good out of UG and basically the same as IB. Do you know what hours are like during the first couple of years? it'd be nice if the bonuses where north of 20k.
How were you able to confirm that this is for all 1st year analysts at BB AM's? I feel like I've heard contrary on this forum. Salary in the WSO databases for BB AM's seem to indicate 70k, but this may have only changed for incoming analysts in 2015 or 2016.
I would be surprised if entry level Asset Management candidates had an 85k salary at a BB, unless bonuses have been cut commiserate. That sounds high.
I can confirm this is true for my BB in NY. Don't know what regional comp is or what bonuses should look like, but 1st year base is 85 across my entire department.
GSAM
85k base, 35k bonus
80+ hours/week
85k 1st year in NY/SF, 75k 1st year in most other offices. I received an offer and can verify these figures. Signing bonus plus stub year bonus totaling ~15- 20k combined. 10k/year jumps in base while analyst, with full year bonuses around 20-30K. Approximately 70 hours a week.
Thanks for the info!
90,000/year and 30 bonus prorated
forgot to add about 50 hours/week
That is a solid combo, how do you manage to work only 50 bro and pull in ~120k???
because he's lying. I've never heard of 90 base for a first year analyst in AM. The only high finance jobs that have base that high are in IBD at elite boutiques like Evercore. And there you're working 80-90 hours as opposed to 50 hours lmao
I'm at an AM in Chicago in a Fixed Income Portfolio Analyst/Credit Research role and I work about 60 hours/week on average. My first year (2013) was 70+18, second year 80+23, 3rd year 85+27. Next year bonus potential bumps to a different band... currently it sits at a 20-30% target and will jump up to 40-60%.
Thanks for the update, appreciate it. Has the 60hrs/week been consistent through out your 3 years?
Yeah I'd say 55-60 has been standard. Occasionally I work less, not sure I've ever worked more than 70 even in my worst week though.
90 and 30
just want to clarify, these numbers are 0 to 1yrs out of Undergrad at a BB AM arm? NYC?
Don't have any idea about bonuses, but I can safely say that my BB is 85 base across the division for 1st years in NY.
