2009 Recruiting

Currently I am searching for a summer internship (2009) with an Investment Bank here in the Bay Area. I am currently attending a community college and plan to transfer to a target school this coming 2008-2009 year (chances look pretty high). However, considering I will be applying my 2nd year of community college, obviously I will be looked down upon by recruiters because I am not yet applying from a target school. I have some pretty good work experience relating to finance, accounting and a little banking. I'm assuming my only chances would be small banks in the area. What do you guys recommend I do from here considering my position.
