2016 Summer Analyst IB Recruiting Timeline Megathread
Mod Note (Andy): Make sure to bookmark this page as this will be the cumulative thread for 2016 SA IBD info and added to the frontpage each week to help collect more info
As banks recruit earlier and earlier, I thought it would be good to have a dedicated thread for recruiting this fall. I know from first hand that some accelerated processes are kicking off so it might be beneficial to start aggregating data. This will help keep track of what's going on and the individual deadlines for online applications.

Great idea..thanks for setting this up.
Looks good, would anyone happen to know any specific banks a rising junior (next summer) should target?
DreamsWorthMoreThanMoney
I don't know if you are at a target or not, but all the BB banks have summer analyst programs for rising juniors as well as some famous boutiques like Perella Weinberg Partners. All their deadlines are in November/December/January I believe.
.
Any updates on diversity recruiting timelines (specifically for sophomores) are also welcome.
Does this apply to the students studying Financial Engineering as well or only for MS -Finance students?
AndyLouis
I'm still only a rising junior, but I've attended some sophomore diversity programs as well as know several people that got internships at BB/MM banks in the summer. I could try to aggregate the data and post it at some point.
anyone know if any of these applications are open yet? please list
Nothing will be listed usually until September.
None are open as Gronk said, but a lot of these banks are doing informal recruiting in the sense that, they want to "get to know you better."
That's what a majority of the people that I've talked to said at various banks.
how do these banks do informal recruiting? are there networking events?
Any advice for a non-target rising sophomore? I say something about sophomore diversity programs?
Sophomore summer for IB hopefuls is usually an IB internship at a smaller boutique or a lower division in a BB. Some sophomores get BB IB internships, but it's not common.
Some of the BBs have summer IB internship programs targeting diversity. I know BAML, Barclays Next Gen, and GS are some to apply for. I actually did a BB IB soph summer internship myself so feel free to message me.
Wow congrats! I'm attempting to do the same at WF so we'll see how it goes. Are you saying SA getting paid 85k for 3 months work? I had though that ft gets that and then their bonus which can be who knows what lol. PM me if you'd like to explain more.
.
Is it easier to get an SA position as a rising senior than getting one for after graduation?
has anyone heard back from Stifel AR? the app was due on the 19th of this month and now im worried I didnt get a first round interview :(
Stifel already had an app due for 2016 summer????
Would love to know what's happening with BX recruitment since they are spinning off M&A/RX into PJT Partners. Any info would be great.
^ I don't think so. I'm fairly close with people from Stifel, but had no idea about an accelerated process. I was told by their recruiters to reach out in October/November.
This is for the 2016 Full-Time Investment Banking Class
Sorry, but not close enough.
We hope your summer is going well! We are reaching out today, inviting you to apply for our
accelerated interview process of our 2016 Full-Time Investment Banking Analyst Class! The process,
outlined below, will allow you to submit your resume and interview with the firm prior to going
back to campus in the fall. We hope this earlier timeline will be helpful to you in navigating and
considering full time opportunities.
Application Process:
We will be hiring Investment Banking analysts in New York, Baltimore, Bethesda, Richmond,
Houston, Chicago, St. Louis, and San Francisco.
Submitting your Resume:
In order to be considered for full-time accelerated interviews, we ask that you submit your current

location preference of the following: New York, Baltimore, Bethesda, Richmond, Houston, Chicago,
St. Louis, and San Francisco. We do not require a cover letter or any online submission.

If selected for an interview, first round phone screens will take place before Wednesday, August 5th
with final rounds beginning on Tuesday, August 11th.
We look forward to considering your candidacy in our accelerated process!
Best,
The Stifel Recruiting Team
This is FT, not the summer internship. This post is sspecifically for summer internships, and I think that's what wallstreethopeful meant when he mentioned the Oct-Nov dates.
"2016 Full-Time Investment Banking Class"
This is the summer analyst thread, thank you for sharing that though, should put that in the FT thread if you haven't already.
I think it differs in every country right? I will be focusing on Hong Kong deadlines :)
Not seeing anything online for Wells Fargo yet, am I missing something?
I believe Wells Fargo has a one day application, mark it on your calendars!
What do you mean?
Thanks for setting this up... Much appreciated!
Delete
Makes sense because Wells Fargo's website is still only showing SA 2015 info
I applied through linkedin jobs search for WF. Even though I won't graduated until '18. lol
Thanks for setting this up!
You can submit applications for SA positions at WF for one day, and one day only.
Yeah I applied on the 22nd. Here is the email response I got back. Thank you for your interest in employment with Wells Fargo.

Does WF also do traditional job postings at schools? I go to a target but not one that allows OCR in the fall, so I know there won't be that opportunity
Not completely sure but I would think It does help a lot if you're from California though considering their headquarters are in SF. I go to a non-target in CA and they recruit at job fairs that are during the fall and spring.
Has Wells Fargo been known to do this in the past? Will there really be no more options out there for people who missed the date?
Yes, they have done this in the past. No, there will be no other option for people who miss the day. If you can't remember to put one day for their application on your calendar, are your really the most qualified person for the job?
Does anyone have any info for BB accelerated interviews?
JPM sent out an email regarding this already. GS is generally recruiting on campus much earlier this year at my school (target), but I am not sure if this is the case at other places.
Do you know how to get considered for accelerated internships at other banks? (CS, Barclays, DB, etc.) Or is it totally out of your control?
Does anyone know if these deadlines are only for target schools? If you are from a non target what aspects of the SA recruiting timeline change?
If you're non-target, deadlines are usually somewhat later given you're part of the "non-core" contingent.
where are you seeing that Wells Fargo app is open? I ran a search on their website and couldn't find anything.
Sorry guys, I'm not sure what happened, but as people said, Wells Fargo opened up their applications for one day and took it down. Didn't know any of the banks did that.
With regards to Wells, I'm not sure why they do this, but I know that a few times throughout the fall (and spring maybe?) they will put up posts for 24 hrs. Not really sure what the point of it is, though, as I have never heard of anyone getting interviews from them (only from OCR resume drops)....
Oh you guys haven't got offers yet?
Just got all my SA offers lined up. Deciding between GS and MS. Have JPM too but not prestigious enough for me. Where are all you guys going?
Just got MS'd for being a boss apparently. Haters gonna hate...
Btw, I like how MS in one post means Morgan Stanley and in the next it means monkey shit.
GS diversity emails have been released.
^
As far as I know, they don't release when these decisions come out. How are we supposed to know the listing will be gone in 24 hours?
.
Any updates?
Not sure how relevant but SEO first rounds started this week
isn't SEO on a rolling basis? and don't they start to consider for internships by their deadlines ?
Moelis had a summer analyst listing on our school's career website. I just applied to it.
J.P. Morgan's applications came out and Lazard has applications out for their MM business as well as a equity research position.
Do you reckon there is any benefit to applying this early, i.e. before the deadlines on the OCR listings?
I would think it be better to do that if from a non-target lol
anyone aware of some recruiting events from GS, MS or JPM?
Also did anyone get notified of GS Accelerated Cycle?
Yep, I was notified of the accelerated GS cycle
how were you notified if you don't mind answering?
CalvinC When are applications due for GS Accelerated cycle please?
Also for others, When do superday for SA at BB like GS, MS, JPM, Blackstone scheduled normally?
I am reading different answers for some saying Nov/Dec while some saying Jan/feb. What generally are the timeline for Summer Analyst recruiting in your school?
Via email from a recruiter (I go to a target so that may have had something to do with it). Apps are due 10/7
Are you a URM candidate or did you get a "code" to input in your application? I go to a target too, and no word from anyone regarding the accelerated process.
Did everyone (those interested in finance) at your school get the email from the recruiter, or just you? I go to a target, but have not gotten an email / heard anything about GS accelerated yet
Not URM and didn't see a code at first glance although I may have missed it.
I bet they're just rolling them out at different times?
Gotcha, thanks. So did you get an email to apply at a special link, or did you just have to apply through the regular application online?
Any new applications open up yet?
What is timeline for Wells Fargo recruiting? Not sure if it is through on campus or just via their webiste
Wells Fargo will also be on campus.
Barclays website says they will open applications today
Wells Fargo won't open applications until October 6th.
Anyone have news on SF deadlines / superdays?
So when banks have their application open online, do you submit your application online and then network and tell people in your network to pass along your resume? What's the point of applying online when you are just going to give your contacts your resume?
Unrelated, if I just started reaching out to alum this week am I screwed? Any tips for last minute networking?
I got referred and got email about GS Accelerated last week with a deadline of October 7th.
DB was posted at my school with an app deadline of November 15
Anyone hear back about GS Insight Day?
I got the email inviting me yesterday. I think the latest they let people know is today.
Same, is it a guaranteed first round interview for the area you selected? I.e IBD
@Baileyoffski is the GS Insight Day only for diversity?
Yes, that's the way it's been advertised
Yes, it is.
PM'd
Care to share if you two go to targets?
I go to a state school, so nontarget on my end.
Juniors or sophomores?
Junior.
When do BBs and MMs usually screen for first round interviews? Got my resume passed around and referred into the internship program. Non-target.
My best friend had a first round with SIG for a research role, but I'm surprised since it's so early...
Superlative Does you or your friend go to a target??
No, we go to a non-target state school.
I go to a target, and SIG posted their internships back in August. Can confirm from a third-party that they had two superdays in September.
Deadline for a Ciit posting on my OCR is October 1st. Surprised how early.
Anyone know anything about Goldman's superday on October 6th and when the accelerated rounds are this year?
Any updates? Any windows closing soon?
Anyone hear back about GS STEM symposium?
Anyone updating this list or what?
Had my first round interview at a BB yesterday. Not sure how I feel about my performance though.
CS deadline is Oct 1. (spoke directly w/ recruiter). Already had Jefferies first rounds, second round in a few weeks w/ superday early november.
CS postings haven't even gone up at my school (they go up on the 28th). Do you go to a target or semi target?
I go to a target and can confirm CS October 1 deadline
I go to a target and can confirm CS October 1 deadline
This is for NYC correct? are recruiting timelines consistent across firm's locations?
Yes, this is for NYC. Most of the Houston and west coast opportunities I have seen have earlier due dates even within the same firm
CalvinC how do you know about Houston and other location due dates?
If you can please share any due dates you knew about Houston or other locations for any firm it will be of great help
Can some actually go ahead and post the deadlines for all in the same post editing it? Would be really helpful. Thanks.
has anyone have news about Blackstone app?
anyone go to a target where they have put up applications?
Can confirm Oct 1st is the deadline for CS.
Anyone know of any other early October deadlines? I go to one of the LACs and I was told to apply to CS before Oct 1
Will confirm that there has already been superdays for some of the houston banks
Is Citi's deadline too, OCtober 1st? #pleasehelp
Non-target here. Wells Fargo Securities is having a webinar on SA 2016 opportunities later today at 5:30pm ET. Their one day application (at least for me) is going up on October 6th.
Anyone know anything about BAML/DB/UBS deadlines?
Is Citi Deadline today? Can anyone clarify about Citi?
BAML seems to be closed
The CS oct 1 deadline is for schools that they don't have OCR. Targets have a much later deadline varied by schools.
Can someone tell me when JPM deadlines are?
What happened to Bank of America? They said they would keep it up for longer on their website.
under maintenance
Did anyone apply to SEO?
I did SEO-U this summer and was accepted to the internship recruitment process last week.
What kind of email did you get? PM me if you don't mind
Heard back from RBC today for a first round. I may just be early.
deleted
BAML is doing superdays next Friday as part of their accelerated process.
Has Deutsche Bank deadline already passed?
To everyone who go to target schools with on campus recruiting, please share your schools deadlines of different firms??
Credit Suisse Deadline was October 1 BAML is already gone also I cannot see Deutsche Bank DB any major openings on their website.
Why not just share the deadlines and help everyone?
BAML is done? Says who? IIRC the deadline is Nov 1st on their website.
Goldman has superdays for my school next week.
Does anyone know a brief timeline for Evercore, Greenhill, Lazard, Centerview, and Moelis? Have all first-rounds already been conducted?
I've been in contact with satellite BBs and EBs. Some are taking the new recruiting timeline in stride and waiting until after the chaos ends, but a few are freaking out and have been doing superdays throughout October. At this rate, most spots will be filled before 2015 ends.
throwaway_999 can you be more specific on which BBs and EBs
I don't think any of what's mentioned above (e.g., October 1 for CS) are strict deadlines. They might simply be deadlines for specific OCR.
A VP at CS sent me a document about deadlines and Oct 1st was the deadline for them. Superdays are supposed to start Nov.
Are you at a target? Deadlines for targets tend to be in late September or October. Lazard's deadline for my school was Oct 4 and GS is Oct 14.
The application is still open online for whatever that's worth, and if need be I'm sure the deadline can be skirted around through contacts. It also depends on location. I know Hong Kong and Singapore deadlines are in mid-November for CS (for those interested).
Edit: CS's deadline is November 12 on my school's career site. I'm at a secondary type of target (think USC, Williams, Swarthmore).
I have seen almost all BBs Goldman Sachs, Credit Suisse Barclays etc only lets you apply to two divisions/locations.
Does anyone know if any BB or MM lets you apply to more than those?
I'm pretty sure GS allows three division/location preferences.
Speaking of GS, has anyone who applied for the accelerated round heard back yet? My school (target) deadline was Oct. 7.
Same deadline as my school. superday invitations for sales & trading were extended yesterday but nothing from IB yet.
Yes GS only lets you apply to 3. Any BB or MM lets you apply to more than 3?
had a phone interview last week with Wells Fargo for securities sa. still waiting to hear back. 2nd round is another phone interview and then their superday is at their headquarters in charlotte, nc. got interview through ocr resume drop. i was wondering if anyone was on a similar timeline/heard back about 2nd round
WF sent out an email for a non-core candidates without on-campus interviews, which I got. Mine is on Wednesday.
After that it's the super day in Charlotte in November
How did your interview go? any unexpected technicals?
Anyone have experience with Jefferies' first rounds?
Have you heard back yet from Jefferies? I had phone interview 1.5 weeks ago, went well but still haven't heard back.
I heard back from Jefferies about a week or so ago, maybe a little more. I had my phone interview much earlier than you though
Anyone got contacted for Credit Suisse? Non OCR I applied before October 1 deadline and still haven't heard back.
Has anyone done a first-round with Citi?
I have Just sent off my first app for a BB summer internship- London.
Am i late to the party? Does this put me at a huge disadvantage ?
UBS is having super day in New York and Baird is having second rounds. Best of luck
hey when did you guys apply? Am I too late to apply now?
Phone interview with Baird is a killer. Super technical.
when did you apply to Baird?
Has anyone else heard back from Wells Fargo regarding second round interviews?
Had interviews with WF for both S&T and IB internships last week, waiting to hear back. Also waiting to hear back from Jefferies. From non-target school. What other firms do non-target recruiting in the fall?
when did you apply to WF and Jefferies?
you said you went to non target so I am assuming you are just applying online?
Applied online but had my resume referred to HR
.
Non-target, just interviewed with WF. Waiting to hear back.
How did your interview go? any unexpected technicals?
I went through WF's first round last week, and had minimal, basic technicals. Has anyone heard back from them yet?
I got a resume from just doing the online given that i had a referral, but that referral wasn't even from someone in IB.
Anyways, they release results for those who go to super day on Monday.
Is anyone else going to BAML accelerated superday tomorrow?
Do you go to a target? and is the super day for Global Capital Markets or IB? Thanks
@livetowin nontarget sophomore. It's for IB
Does anyone know about when GS starts interviewing for Non-OCR? Got an internal referral and my resume passed but have not heard from anyone in weeks!
Has anyone had a phone-screen/first-round with Evercore, Centerview, Lazard, Greenhill, or any other boutiques?
What about Citigroup, Morgan Stanley, Credit Suisse?
Both my Jefferies and Citi interviews were very technical. Jefferies was 80% and Citi was 70%. Not a single behavioral was asked other than resume/why this bank.
My Jefferies interview wasn't very technical
I think your interviews are more technical if you're a finance/business major, from a non-target, or are interviewing for a technical group/bank (e.g. some of the EBs).
