3.4 GPA First semester Freshman year

I'm a freshman at a target school, and as the first semester finishes up, it looks like I will have a 3.4 GPA. It's been a tough semester, but I will definitely be able to do better in the future.

So how screwed am I? I know GPA should be 3.5+, but well, that didn't happen this semester. Will this affect me a lot for summer internships?

Will My GPA Affect Summer Internship Opportunities?

Your GPA is important for internship and full-time opportunities, but there’s no need to worry if you have a 3.4 after your first semester of freshman year. You have plenty of time to put your head down and bring your GPA above the 3.5 line. Remember, grades aren’t everything. It’s also important, for your future career and your own sanity, to enjoy college, develop social skills, join clubs, etc.

Hey, this thread is oddly reassuring. And I'm working on my essay unfortunately, not waiting on comments.

Also, I've joined a couple clubs and am on one of the executive board committees for one of them

It's fine brah, just keep your head down and get your GPA to a 3.5-3.6 next semester since this is your first time in college.

Regarding the summer internship, I am assuming you are referring to the upcoming summer? I would start looking boutiques around your city asap and hope your target name will help. However though, I would also look elsewhere like PWM or something finance-related as well given this shitty economy and your grades aren't the best right now (even target students with balling grades have trouble finding freshman ibd internships.

Keep working hard and goodluck.

Wow 3.4.... you should probably jump out a window or go into PR because that just won't cut it.. stupid question gets stupid reply.
