4 wks 2 days to GMAT....PLEASE advice?

Hi everyone,

I'm a medical doctor trying to get into a top MBA program.

I have been through both the maths and verbal sections in both the Princeton Review and Kaplan books. That is the section they tell you how to approach the verbal and maths questions and the basic maths and verbal concepts. This took me 2 weeks in total.

I haven't done practice questions / tests yet.

I now have 4 weeks and 2 days off work and my GMAT is at the end of this time.

Do I have enough time? I need to score around 700.

I feel quite stressed and worried I will not get the needed score. I hear of people revising for 6 months and more.

What is the best way to use up my time in the next 4 weeks and 2 days.

Thanks everyone for you help. Its really appreciated.

Honestly since your a doctor, you've taken the MCAT and been through med school. I really believe your study habits are very good and you will be fine for this exam. Remember, stress is no good, you should know better then anyone else doc. Good luck.

Agreed. You are studying for the exam full time and that is quite positive. Do as many exercises as possible. Have a daily routine and stick to it. I wish you the best.

Try to build up your stamina for the test... take as many practice tests as you can. Go back and review material you were weak on. Simulate the time that the GMAT is going to give you for each section.

Then a few days before the GMAT, stop. Relax.

While paper tests are good, the computer tests help you to get acclimated to the format.

As for practice tests, I've found the Kaplan exams to be harder than the actual test, so they're helpful in training for the test.

If you want a to get an idea of what you're likely to score, as well as see the actual test format, download the powerprep software from the GMAT folks. My score on this practice test was only 10 points less than my GMAT.

Also, use a pen when practicing math problems. They've eliminated pencils and scratch paper, and now hand you a booklet of wet erase boards and a fine tipped marker. The setup works fine, you just can't erase.

Good Luck.
