FRANK QUATTRONE
After a few years and two trials the feds finally dropped all charges for "obstruction of justice" in lieu of a one year good behvior sentencing. What a waste of time...well my bet is this guy is re-hired and working again by the end of the week.
than Andy Dufreyne.
Frank will probably open up his own tech boutique... still has a lot of friends in silicon valley.

I am reminded of Godfather II, with the scene where it was explained to Don Corleone that Hyman Roth was the only one (of many gangsters) left because he always made money for his partners.
Would you work with him if you were "Don Corleone"? in this loose analogy?

During the dot-com boom, Quattrone became one of the most powerful figures on Wall Street and in Silicon Valley, helping steward some of technology's most successful companies, including Amazon.com Inc., Cisco Systems Inc. and Netscape Communications Corp.
Now as chief executive of Qatalyst Group, he could again reshape the competitive landscape in Silicon Valley."
This guy made a 160 million in his peak!! How do you guys think frank will fair with his new venture?
Frank Quattrone is the man.
I'd love to see this guy in action. Any of the elder bankers / PE guys ever deal w/ him?
agree with above. lots of talk coming out of our tech guys, expecting him to make some noise.
it is interesting that he didn't take more legacy CS tech guys.
Frank Quattrone and his next move (Originally Posted: 02/14/2007)
Interesting article that speculates the future of possibly the greatest technology banker of all time. He is said to be poaching Boutros and Brady, his former colleagues at CSFB, to join him in his new venture, which would seriously cripple CS's Tech Franchise. I'm sure he has some friends at GS/MS as well. Either way, he'll be major player in tech banking and PE going forward.

the article still quotes the firm as CSFB...
it's probably b/c it was still CSFB when Quattrone was with the firm.
well news was that Boutros signed a new one year contract with CS-Tech so he won't be leaving anytime soon.
Boutros and Brady leaving would absolutely kill the CS-tech practice as Tor Braham and a couple dozen bankers left CS-Tech for DB-Tech back in late 2004.
also mentioned that Boutros isn't happy with CS, so not sure why he would sign. BTW, if Quatrone called him, I'm sure he'd terminate the contract and leave in a minute.
Tor (while he might have been an upgrade from Bob's crew) is not by any stretch of the imagination George.
itll take quattrone at least 1 year to get everything up and running so that 1-yr contract makes no difference
