Industry Acronyms on resume...
Hey guys. I'm hearing it's now ok to use a few industry acronyms. Of course you don't want to go crazy with them. In finance some basic acronyms are DCF, IRR, NPV and so on. I don't really want to spell out Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), Internal Rate of Return (IRR)...when everyone in my industry uses these acronyms on a daily basis.
Your thoughts regarding a few acronyms on a resume?
When you're using acronyms that are industry related, so in effect, the ones you're using, it is ok because it is relevant and industry knowledge. If you used to work in software development and started throwing those acronyms in there, that's when it's a bad idea.
Makes sense. I tried using the search function but got only one hit. Thanks for the feedback.
Agreed with above. Just be conscious about spacing your acronyms out
It's one line. Something like...
"versed in solving for DCF, IRR, NPV"

Is it okay to use abbreviations such as FX, NPV, ROI, TAM, and SOM on resumes? Or should I write it all out?
Yes it is okay to use that abbreviation.
Yes abbreviations are good. Save the space for more valuable content
