Accenture background check
Hi,
I've received an offer from Accenture to start in August. However, I'm having trouble remember what information I provided to them a month ago. I had applied to more than one firm and cannot remember for certain what information was provided to whom.
I thought I had my record from 6 years ago expunged, but I ran a background check on myself recently and realized that it's still there.
I contacted the recruiter and she told me I "shouldn't have" filled out that kind of information yet, because they will do the background check in June. I'm hesitant to take her word for it. My biggest fear is that I already "lied" on my application. I just can't remember what I filled out for Accenture specifically.
Does anyone know at what point in the interview/offer process Accenture asks for this information? Should I feel OK that I've exchanged email correspondence with a recruiter showing a desire to fully disclose info, and wait for them to ask me? Or should I push harder and ask to speak to their HR about this before a background check is run?
Thanks.
Unless things have changed since last year, you will be contacted by a third-party company that does the background check about a month before start date. They do now run checks for a 10 year period so your record from 6 years ago will likely show up. I guess as long as you talked to the recruiter and she is ok with it, you can list your record when you fill out the forms for the background check.
Thank you for your comment. So, you're saying I should more or less trust the recruiter. That's what I'd like to do. I can wait until June to disclose, I just don't want to appear to be intentionally hiding anything. I'm worried that I already did fill out this form for them. But worrying that I did doesn't make it a fact that I did.
Do you speak from a place of experience with this specific firm? Am I just being paranoid?
Well I'm worried that you cannot remember what information you have provided Accenture a month ago. In terms of the information you have provided on your job application, you should still be able to access your profile to verify. As long as you haven't misrepresented about yourself during the interviews then you should be fine. Just answer everything during the background check truthfully.

Will they still hire me if I have a misdemeanor on my record? What does Accenture usually check for in their background checks.
what does a misdemeanor on your record mean? Could you give a broad example or category?
i have a 2 year old DUI, which is a misdemeanor. I wanted to know if they hire people with a DUI on their record.
did you disclose it when applying? my friend had an offer pulled because he had an DUI.
The application did not ask if i was convicted and neither did the interviewers...did your friend have an offer pulled from Accenture or some other company?
It was not Accenture, but it was with government contractor. so maybe they might have stricter requirements.
I friend of mine has a DUI in Canada (which is a criminal offense here, not just a misdemeanor) and has been hired by an MBB firm. Honesty is your best strategy. He talked about it right away after receiving his offer and he convinced HR that his past mistake (a big one for sure though) was not reflective of his person, which was 100% true.
I just wanted to follow up I'm actually in the same position you were I just finished my 2nd round interviews but I have a misdemeanor dui did they offer you a job or did they recind it after the background check

I'm set to start in September for Accenture SI in DC, but haven't heard anything since accepting their offer in March. They told me their background check will occur about 6 weeks before the start date. For anyone in Accenture, what was the background check like? How many references do i need? And should I have heard more correspondence than I have received (i.e. almost none since I accepted their offer)?
Did you lie about GPA?
i didn't lie about anything on the application. My GPA was a 3.9 from a target (Yale) - I'm just wondering when I'm supposed to hear back. No legal transgressions or anything.
Wondering about Accenture as well. And damn a 3.9 from Yale? Nice job.
Received a response last week. They're starting the whole background check process. This is for a consultant position, not analyst.
ya, Accenture has a pretty long gap between receiving an offer and the actually hiring procedures. Some people that I knew didn't get a lot of their start-date info until about 4 weeks before.
