Accenture background check

Hi,
I've received an offer from Accenture to start in August. However, I'm having trouble remember what information I provided to them a month ago. I had applied to more than one firm and cannot remember for certain what information was provided to whom.

I thought I had my record from 6 years ago expunged, but I ran a background check on myself recently and realized that it's still there.

I contacted the recruiter and she told me I "shouldn't have" filled out that kind of information yet, because they will do the background check in June. I'm hesitant to take her word for it. My biggest fear is that I already "lied" on my application. I just can't remember what I filled out for Accenture specifically.

Does anyone know at what point in the interview/offer process Accenture asks for this information? Should I feel OK that I've exchanged email correspondence with a recruiter showing a desire to fully disclose info, and wait for them to ask me? Or should I push harder and ask to speak to their HR about this before a background check is run?

Thanks.

Unless things have changed since last year, you will be contacted by a third-party company that does the background check about a month before start date. They do now run checks for a 10 year period so your record from 6 years ago will likely show up. I guess as long as you talked to the recruiter and she is ok with it, you can list your record when you fill out the forms for the background check.

Thank you for your comment. So, you're saying I should more or less trust the recruiter. That's what I'd like to do. I can wait until June to disclose, I just don't want to appear to be intentionally hiding anything. I'm worried that I already did fill out this form for them. But worrying that I did doesn't make it a fact that I did.

Do you speak from a place of experience with this specific firm? Am I just being paranoid?

I friend of mine has a DUI in Canada (which is a criminal offense here, not just a misdemeanor) and has been hired by an MBB firm. Honesty is your best strategy. He talked about it right away after receiving his offer and he convinced HR that his past mistake (a big one for sure though) was not reflective of his person, which was 100% true.
