Accepting SA--Changing Major

Hi fellow monkeys, I recently accepted SA position at a BB. I haven't gotten official paperwork yet, but on my resume it says I am a certain major. I am currently actually undeclared (long story) but in the process of declaring to that major on my resume and hopefully can do so before I have to send in my official transcripts so that things line up.

But I am also in the process of thinking about switching to a different major and may instead declare that. How does this work with the internship process? Would the bank care if a) my transcript doesnt say same major or b) says undeclared when they receive it

Anyone experience something along these lines?

I would say that it depends. If you wrote that you were a Math major, but then your resume stated that you were an Art History Major, then that might cause some problems. Mainly because your major sets the expectations for your GPA (e.g. Math majors wouldn't be expected to have lower GPAs than Art History majors). In most cases, I don't think they really care. They're probably just gonna look at your GPA.

In what world is a Math major expected to have a higher GPA than an Art History major?

Obviously the "minimum GPA" requirement is supposed to be met by everyone, regardless of their major. However, an interviewer will find a math major with a 3.5 GPA to be more impressive than aa Art History major with a 3.5. I doubt it would've had a significant impact on him getting the offer, but it could have been a factor.

Edit: Ops, I misread your comment. I made a mistake in my first post. I meant a Math major would be expected to have a lower GPA than an Art History major.
