I'd appreciate some constructive feedback in regards to my resume. I am a sophomore student at a large state school hoping to generate interest from big 4 accounting firms. I know the content may be somewhat lackluster at this point but I'm planning on getting more involved next semester.

Keep your GPA up (shoot for 3.6+)
Join Beta Alpha Psi when you are eligible - try to get a leadership position or at least a "committee member."
Join any clubs you are interested in, even if it isn't necessarily business related. Ex: lacrosse, soccer intramurals or a social clubs
Go to all networking events you can and start getting your face in front of people, even if you are too early for an internship.
Figure out how timing of the recruiting events work. For example most hiring for interns/FT are done in the fall. Many people don't realize this - I had a guy in my class ask when he should start "looking for a job" when all the offers had been given out already.
Resume for a sophomore isn't terrible - talk to career services on how to add things.

Having just gone through the big 4 recruiting process and receiving 3 of 4 offers, here is my advice.
-Get the GPA up to at least a 3.5. 3.5 is a cutoff for many of these firms, even though they may not explicitly state that. -Remove the relevant coursework until you have taken more accounting classes. Once you have taken more accounting classes, also add a separate line stating your GPA in those courses. -You need more professional experience. Get an internship this summer in any industry, as long as it is business related. Take an unpaid position as a last resort. Once you add another internship, you can remove some of the bullets on your other experiences, as there should be a MAXIMUM of 3 bullet points per experience. A lot of the bullet points are actually very well stated, especially the ones where specific numbers are mentioned, but there are too many per experience. -Remove the Case Competition from experience, and put it as a note under your activities section that you participated in it. -Obtain a leadership role in some sort of club on campus and add it to your resume. If you can't land one, you need some sort of other leadership experience on your resume. -For your internship, state specifically what type of intern you were, not just "intern." State "consulting intern" if you were in a consulting role or "tax intern" if you were in some sort of tax role etc. -Skills. You need a line to state you general skills. You can put this right before the activities line or after interests. Anywhere in that area. Just state your proficiency in things like excel etc. -Your interests are too general. These are things that you can use to create conversation once you land an interview. For sports, state specifically what sports or teams you like, not just "sports." What type of technology do you like? What is visual art? -Network. Attend any event on campus where the big 4 are attending even if you are not applying for an internship that year. The earlier you start networking, the better. -I like the general format and flow of the resume though. Keep that.
