Advice before you PM a professional on this website

I don't post on this website as much as I used to, as 1) I am not a college student and don't have that much time. 2) I have a demanding schedule 3) All CFA exams have been passed...

I just thought I'd make an exception and write the following advice post. If you are going to PM me:

1) Remember I have most likely been working much longer than you, so a bit of respect is always appreciated; especially if you are going to ask me for help.
2) Don't assume I work in HR because I answered 3 years ago on an HR related question (I work in S&T...)
3) Don't ask me whether banks check your background, and if you might get caught if you forged your transcript. WTF!? --> This is what made me write this post. Someone actually asked me how tough the background checks were in banks in case you forged your transcript. If you did, I certainly hope we are not going to hire your dumb ass
4) When you copy paste the same question 4 times to 4 different people, make an effort to get the username right.

This might sound like an old grumpy post, but for fuck sake. Pay attention. If you ask any of the users here for questions, and they already work in the industry just consider it like an email you are writing to a future employer. That will make it easier... I hope.
