Advice for a 19 year old CSOM student

Hi there Oasis,

My name is Andrew and I am currently living in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I moved here 17 months ago after graduating a semester early from high school.

I spent all of 2015 earning study abroad credits for the UMN. I'm currently live with my dad, also a finance major from Carlson, but I will be returning to the UMN next fall to finish my degree.

I've had an incredible time here and became almost fluent in Spanish with my classes, but I need to finish my degree at Carlson School of Management.

There are some incredible universities here like La UBA and Di Tella, but the degrees can take up to 5-6 years to finish due to overcrowding and extremely demanding conditions. (Think Harvard but overpopulated and underfunded). I am currently studying at La UCA, but my grades are nothing to brag about. I need to go back and study in english. I have a better chance at getting a strong GPA and later being accepted into a top MBA program.

Upon returning I plan to finish my undergrad in Finance and continue practicing Spanish and Portuguese. My real dream is to get back to South America and work as soon as possible.

I come to this forum to ask for advice and tips on what a good plan for my studies and later career should look like. How long would it take to return to South America to work, for example, as an intern or analyst after getting an undergrad in finance?

Thanks for the help guys!
