Advice on choosing fulltime offer, couple consulting offers
Hi all,
I was lucky and was able to get a bunch of offers for full time consulting.
Return offer from Deloitte S&O
Offer from IBM GBS
Offer from Simon Kucher
Offer from IMS Consulting
They all have comparable compensation. It's a question of boutique vs huge companies, and which company would give me the best opportunities later on. I know IBM has a bad rep with its culture and its extremely high turnover rate. I liked Deloitte over the summer but again it was a very big company and hard to navigate certain channels. I do want to do management consulting in the future.
I want to rank on:
1. Prestige
2. Business School placement (HBS, Stanford, Wharton) - i'm going to a good undergraduate school
3. Exposure to client senior management
4. Exposure and connections with Partners at the firm.
What do you guys think?
Personally, it would be a no-brainer...I would pick Deloitte S&O. It'll give you better variety of work, a good brand name and likely a more diverse set of exit-ops.
agree with above
Deloitte, easy choice
yep, Deloitte
Deloitte S&O
Hmm personally I didn't find my experience during my internship that fulfilling. I was stuck on a really big project so maybe I was just unlucky.
What would you guys consider as the 2nd best option out of those?
I've never heard of IMS Consulting so can't say anything about them. As for Simon-Kucher and IBM GBS, they're both very specialized firms. The former works primarily with pharma companies and sales/marketing (read: pricing analytic) problems - think smaller ZS. The latter works primarily on IT focused issues...think SAP implementation, etc.
So if you are interested in either of those specializations then go with that firm. Otherwise, and what I would do, is go to Deloitte S&O and through networking + building a good reputation try to get on the "good" projects.
Deloitte S & O. Seems like a no brainer to me. Try to get on good assignments by building a good reputation over time in your areas of interest.
how about Ernst & Young, PwC, or KPMG?
