Advice sought: Transition from Managing Family Partnership Fund to HF job search

I am a top10 MBA school grad, have been managing full-time family partnership funds (<1m) for the last 8+ years at very good returns of ~40% compounded annual, and seeking now to work for a Hedge Fund in a portfolio management role. Any honest feedback from the group on the opportunities and challenges, as well as any recommendations is appreciated. Thanks.
