What Happened to Aegis Capital Group? Did they shut down?
Anyone know what happened to the private equity group, Aegis Capital Group? The one who's PR guy, Brett Hickey, was on Season 2 of Wall Street Warriors?
They had a nice website just a year ago and now it's this: http://aegiscg.com
(thats the real site. there are a few fake ones on the internet pretending to be them)
i googled everywhere...anyone know what happened to that firm? did they flop over? is brett unemployed now or what?
Prolly went under b/c Hickey clearly doesn't work there anymore.

Mmh, I'd be interested in that one, too.
If they did shut down, does anyone know the reason? I thought they were going well just a year ago? It's like they were here one second and then the next second, poof.
must've been blown off. This is what happens when you pay millions to 20 something:)
What I remember from watching in the show, he was interested in investing into 1) A luxury helicopter service 2) A caribbean resort and 3) An affluent NY private financing & banking firm. I can't imagine any of those businesses did well over the last 2 years. I'm sure his firm shuttered.
bump. just started watching the show....does anyone know?

Just...wow...
Why is this bad?
maybe he feels they wont be getting much of a return on investment for a LOOONG time? I mean, to even have 4/10 successful investments that eventually got acquired or went public, is considered "amazing" for investors :P
I was reacting more to the ridiculousness of the whole "social enterprise" shtick coupled with the fact that their only two portfolio companies (really one, now that it's merged, but i guess theoretically that's value add) involve celebrities and dubious business models. I guess the LPs can only blame themselves for investing.
