AllianceBernstein
I have a phone interview coming up for a summer position in their fixed income client group. Any advice or experiences with this would be much appreciated. what sort of questions would they ask? at the moment I'm assuming mostly behavioral.
They are very focused on finding the brilliance. There will be a bunch of brain teasers and questions you will have to tell them what your process would be to solve the problem. For example, how would you go about figuring out how many iPhones will be sold in China next year.
Never would expect something like that for AM thanks for the heads up
Agree with the above poster, AB likes asking a ton of brainteasers, problem solving questions and macro type questions. Also be sure to nail their traditional fit questions such as "why AB" and "what do you know about AB." Don't think it would be technical, unless you're doing EQR.
rmarcus - that china iphone question is for Sanford bernstein, the sellside unit, not AB which is the asset manager. i know because i had that same question. but you are right though, overall, it is found finding brilliance.
I got switched to another group right before my phone interview, but I think it went very well, expecting another phone interview with the hiring manager in the coming days
What are you interviewing for now?
I got switched to client group- request for proposal. It's a lot like investment consulting, finding suitable managers for specific client needs. I've already been passed along to a second round phone interview monday with potential for a superday on thursday
Which office? NY?
Yup NY
sorry to open this again but does anyone have any info on AllianceBernstein and what people think of them around wall street?
@mikemurph309, would you mind chatting with me for a few minutes? I have a phone interview coming up next week for the exact same position. Thanks!

Does anyone know anything about this position or the interview process? Seems very general. Seems to cover a lot of areas around fixed income.
