Already followed up, no response, what to do?
I had a superday with BAML last Wednesday. The last interviewer said I would hear back from them Friday or next Monday so I emailed both HR and the group head for result this Monday but had no response. I know at this point I probably have to wait but wonder if anyone had experience like this and what did you do?
...keep waiting
Hang in there buddy.
Many among us have gone through this and it can be somewhat unnerving. Just remember that not getting a prompt reply doesn't imply that you've been dinged or wait-listed.
dinged..... HR called on thursday.
Already Followed Up After Interview, but no Response (Originally Posted: 03/07/2014)
Hey all,
Recently interviewed with Wells Fargo and was told 2 weeks ago that I would be receiving a response within a week. I followed up 3 days after the week has passed and followed up again yesterday.
Should I just cut my losses from here or call them back on Monday?
Call Monday, if no response, move along young chap
What group and what kind of position?
known an associate there who got his call from wfc almost 3 weeks after his superday. sit tight bud.
Havent heard back after following up ----> Dinged??? (Originally Posted: 06/01/2014)
I had a superday two weeks ago with a small buyside firm in NYC and was very impressed with the position. I thought I made a good connection with the team and was told by the most senior partner that the prior interviewers spoke very highly of me and that he "Hoped to work with me in the future". I was the only candidate in the office that day and the investment team is very small(
Anybody?
Try following up again. If you didn't get a response from early last week it is possible that just you weren't the most important issue on their mind following Memorial Day.
Thanks. Do you think its best to follow up with my initial contact, or a more senior member of the investment team that I havent emailed yet?
Follow up. Small firms aren't as organized and don't have the HR function that larger ones do. But like it was posted above, stay with your contact, don't go over his/her head and call, don't just email.
UPDATE: Called on Monday and got no answer. Have not gotten a response to my voicemail in two days now.
Im somewhat confused as i assume that if i have been denied i would have gotten a rejection email by now.
What do you guys think?
Im guessing one of the following has happened:
-They interviewed another candidate and extended an offer to them, keeping me on hold until they formally accept -They are planning on preparing me an offer but havent got around to doing it yet -They went with another candidate and just dont want to respond to me for whatever reason
I experienced something very similar to this last year (was strung along for several weeks after superday that included a pretty comprehensive case) and ultimately got dinged. It is a pretty shitty feeling while you're waiting but honestly the best thing to do is to not get your hopes up and just keep interviewing as if you never had the super day. Don't stop until there is an offer letter in front of you.
nope, i got dinged but shortly after accepted another position
No reply to follow-up, bad sign? (Originally Posted: 02/22/2010)
If the interviewer didn't respond to the short thank you emails is this a bad sign and vice versa?
The one interviewer who followed up with me didn't give me an offer.
The 3 others who did not respond to my thank you note gave me offers.
There is nothing to be read into here, just ignore it.
I definitely second that, there's no rhyme or reason to it
chill. i know everyone wants to read meaning into these notes, but they are 100% meaningless. whether i respond to thank you emails is mostly dependent on my mood, my workload, whether i ate lunch, how my favorite team did last night... and the remaining 1% on how well i think you did.
No rhyme or reason. Some firms have HR departments that instruct employees NOT to respond after interviews. Lessens potential liabilities.
