Amazon or Walmart to MBB?
Recent graduate here from a non-target program.
Amazon Fulfillment: Area Manager
Career Path: Area Manager (~2 yrs) -> Operations Manager (~2 yrs)
Walmart Home Office: Graduate Program (Rotational)
Career Path: Associate (1 yr) -> Associate Manager (1yr) -> Manager (~2yrs)
Which will best position me for a MBB?
What are the exit opportunities after Amazon in Operations?
What are the exit opportunities after Walmart (Category Management, Replenishment, e-Commerce, etc.)?
No idea on exit opps. Also, you'd be hard pressed to transition directly to MBB from either of those positions without an MBA...
outside perspective from new grad who is definitely not an expert in industry exit ops: I'd go with Amazon. I feel like their cache, especially in ops is pretty hard to pass up
Whichever best positions you for an MBA, which is likely Amazon
area manager? is that like going to bumblefuck, USA and working at a distribution center? or is that learning supply chain stuff at their HQ? if the former, go walmart, if the latter, go AMZN
"Area management" feels like he's going to manage an AMZN warehouse... I'd go with WMT too
EDIT: if this is what you're talking about, take WMT hands-down. https://www.amazon.jobs/en/jobs/415131
