Total Compensation Progression

I'd really appreciate if you could provide some numbers regarding the progression of total compensation in banking, starting at the analyst level, and the probability of promotions occurring.

For instance, what % of analysts get promoted to associates and what is the new, average total compensation? What about associate to VP, MD, etc...

In the same context, what % of analysts go on to PE, and what would be the total compensation progression in PE?

Thank you.

Drexelalum11 doesn't know what he's talking about.

It depends on the market. Currently, most 2nd year analysts at my bank (BB) don't have a buyside offer and about 60%+ 2nd years got 3rd year offers. Associate to VP percentage is very high at my bank simply because by the end of the 3rd year, there are very few associates left since most have left, and there are really not that many choices for promotion. VP to D to MD is harder and percentage varies from year to year a lot.
