Any Guidance Appreciated -- Top MBA Chances?
I'm currently a public finance ib analyst at a reputable firm in a major city (think NYC, Chicago, LA, SF).
My goal is to attend an M7 bschool and ultimately transition to M&A as an associate.
I graduated from a top 10 business school with a 3.38 GPA in finance (not great I know), was the president of the undergraduate investment club and had solid summer internships. I plan to stay in my current role for the next two years and hopefully receive a promotion to associate during that time.
Given my profile, do I have a shot at an M7 school if I log a 700+ GMAT, show career progression (with the promotion to associate) and volunteer in my local community? What additional steps can I take to improve my profile in the next 24-36 months?
Ask an admissions consultant -- Natalie from Accepted has a long-running thread where her and Linda Abraham critique profiles and answer questions. Just search for it.
focus on the GMAT - you need to get a 730+ to have a decent shot at M7
