Any Jobs at a Big 4 Auditing Firm with JD
Hi guys,
Like the title says, are there any positions at big 4 firms(PwC, E&Y, etc) that traditionally require or recommend a JD? Currently working at a big 4 and going to school for JD but dont really know if there is anything here for me. HR seems to be useless for helping. I've had advisory thrown out there. Is the only option compliance law or is there a business/finance side where my combination of finance and law would be marketable?
Look into restructuring maybe. I believe the big 4 have restructuring teams but I hear they are not at the level of some of the other BB and MM restructuring groups.

There are a few advisory groups that might like the JD (compliance, etc.). Mostly you see people in tax with a JD, but honestly, at the Big 4, Big 4 experience is viewed as more valuable than any degree.
Having worked at one of the big 4, in a prior life, my advisory team worked very closely with International Tax. Everyone in that group had at minimum a JD, most also with an LLM.
JD/MBA looking at Big 4 (Originally Posted: 07/09/2013)
I live in a Louisiana/Texas area in a town which has all big4 members within an hour of where I live.
In less than a year I will have my JD/MBA from 50-100 ranked JD program and my MBA from a 50-100 ranked program. I finished UGrad with a 3.8 GPA (Business) and will have over a 3.8 MBA GPA and about a 3.0 (about median) Law GPA at graduation. I've taken several tax classes in UGrad and during my MBA (All A's with a B or 2). I've also taken a few tax classes through law school, one of which is my highest grade in law school.
I'm wondering with these kind of numbers, what are my chances of getting into the tax or international tax division at one of the Big4?
Also, if anyone has practiced law (or interned), how do they like working at the Big4 compared to their law job?
What is the best process for applying at these firms?
Also, I'm still open to other career paths. My counselors at school have been utterly useless for helping place people with JD/MBAs. Would love some feedback on other opportunities. My love is numbers, puzzles, and strategy. I've done very well in everything Finance/Tax related i've dabbled in.
Thanks in advance to all who help. A year to graduation and still trying to figure out why I just didn't go to Med School ;). lol
