From your post it sounds like you're under the impression you're somehow disadvantaged coming from Barclays. Versus MS and GS, yeah maybe, but generally speaking, you're just as marketable as the next guy. And for the record, being advantaged (from GS/MS) really only means that you get more interviews... once you've got an interview, its a level playing field and its one candidate against the other based on interview performance.

As has been mentioned on here quite a bit, not being from GS/MS just means you need to put in a bit more leg work to get on the recruiters and PE firms' radars.

I don't think he is concerned about getting into PE. He is wondering whether he has a decent shot of landing at the top.

To speak to that, I think there are a few, but definitely more work needed on your end. Think of it as coming from a target but not upenn and trying to get into GS/ms all over again.
