I heard Nut On Your Face Capital is still looking for FT analysts, not sure though
As a cum enthusiast, I found this very unfunny
From a 10 second LinkedIn search Palazzo Investment Bankers, DA Davidson, MTS Health Partners, Sawaya Segalas, Cantor Fitzgerald, Vista Point Advisors, Headwaters MB, Alvarez and Marsal, Samuel A. Ramirez & Co., there are plenty of places still hiring. Most are boutique or MM firms.
Strongly discourage applying for or working at Palazzo Investment Bankers. Details below -
- Below street comp / no bonus but advertises it as the opposite
- High turnover
- Negative deal flow - badly connected leadership
- Inexperienced VPs limit the potential for growth
Thanks guyfromct. Any others?
Just look on indeed or LinkedIn or search for lists of boutiques on WSO and cold call. I'd also say it's very late in the game and the FT Ship may have sailed and at this point you may need to consider other options.
Know some boutiques like Craig Hallum just have an email where you can send in your resume / cover letter. No idea if they're still hiring but worth a shot.
I've found several through LinkedIn however I am looking into O&G (I know its tough, especially now) and want to remain in the city I'm in. Hoping to leverage my industry experience and Business Development role to break in otherwise MBA is the only option.
pcubed not sure what area you want to go into but definitely look at the MM and boutique firms. 7 Mile Advisors is another that seems to hire on a rolling basis and has an online application you can use to submit your resume.
Unless you're in Houston, NYC or Calgary (and to a lesser extent SF for alt energy and Dallas) you're in between a rock and a hard place. I'd suggest trying to reach out to bankers if you're experienced, because that's a whole different ball game. I would suggest being flexible about industry as a lot of boutique banks are generalists. Also I'd consider being more open to the broader energy universe e.g. utilities.
guyfromct I'm in Houston and want to stay here. I've been reaching out to bankers of all levels but with very limited success. Coming from a non-target (although have relevant work experience and Finance degree), most have suggested an MBA.
My reason for not wanting an MBA is because I want to gain the skills and go through the paces as an analyst as this will be valuable experience when getting my MBA and returning as an associate (I want to make a career out of banking if possible).
Any thoughts? Suggestions?
