Apply for graduate programs 1-2 years after graduating
Hi,
I would know if we can still apply for graduate program with some experience.
In theory we couldn't but a friend told me we can still be eligible to get a graduate program even 1 year after we get our diploma.
What do you think? I'm from a country where graduate program are not popular from company so your opinion would be very interesting.
Thank you very much.
Regards,
It's possible I guess. But I haven't heard of a 1 year then graduate. Earliest I've heard is Harvard's 2+2. The average age in most MBA programs is around 27, so ~5 years experience, and I would wait until then if I were you. If you're too young and come out of grad school (assuming it's an MBA or some related degree) you'll be in between a rock and a hard place when it comes to finding employment
Hello,
Thank you for your answer.
I have not been clear enough but basically if get my mater degree in 2010 and start a new job the same year (or one year later after few internships) am I still eligible to apply for graduate program (Goldman, JPM...) despite my experience ?
Thank a lot!
Regards,
I would be shocked if you can get hired as an analyst after your 4-5 years of experience. But you can definitely apply to associate programs, which are also "graduate programs", and your work experience can help.
Hi,
I made a mistake in my last message. Sorry for that.
*if get my mater degree in 2013/2014.
Otherwise I'll look at associate program, but I thought this program was only for people who just graduate with a MBA or a PHD.
Thank you
If you graduated in 2014 that means you've had only 1 year work experience, in which case you can apply for an analyst program, because I think (though not sure) most firms will consider people with 1-2 years experience still 'junior'.
