Auburn Wins National Championship
They covered the spread.... barely. One of the best National Championships I have seen in recent memory. A lot of people lost a bunch of money on the over, but it was a phenomenally exciting game!

Are you kidding? That was the most boring game I have ever seen. The real Champions were TCU, not these pathetic teams.
Exciting game, yes. Good game, no.
Anyone, anyone but the SEC next year, please.
PS, Andrew Luck would have ripped Auburn's secondary to pieces.
WoWoWo no on all this.
Good game YES exciting game no, when was it exciting? the game was really great in the sense of how the defense and offenses matched up. The special teams were both stymied due to the GOOD play of the coverage teams. At times it was exciting 1stQ only really fake extra point??? yes.
Also the SEC will be in again next year. won't be auburn or Oregon though both losing to many seniors in important positions.
BTW Luck is a great QB but harbough is a much better coach then most college HCs.
SEC is the best in college football their record is no fluke. I say throw out the ACC and Big East auto bids and let teams like TCU/Boise et al. take their spots in BCS bowl games.
PS, I took the under (73)
nice call on the under... i was thinking it would be very difficult for them to put up 74+ pts...
It was a fascinating game. Auburn got a lot of help, Oregon left a lot of points on the table. Cam Newton looked very human, didn't look like he is as NFL ready as everybody seems to think. Also a few phantom penalties killed Oregon along with that flukey run at the end.
I agree with poster above TCU should have been in this game, they're better than both of these teams. And I still think Boise State is far better than these teams. Alabama, also, would have probably crushed either one of them (yeah despite the earlier fluke loss to Auburn).
WHAT BOISE STATE BETTER THEN AU OR OREGON???????
Ummm, wait you're sold on the fact that TCU may be better than these two teams but you think it's crazy to say that Boise State may be better? OK...so TCU is definitely better than Boise right?
If it makes you kids feel any better, Happy lost 300 bucks on the game tonight, good thing he won 600 on the TCU game
LOL over 72? That was one of those "looks like a trap" situations. The spread worked it's way down to a pick em' at game time in a few places, I was tempted to jump on Auburn right there. Glad I stayed away, even winning that one, it was too flukey of a game to be a "smart bet." Also I feel like I would have single handedly swung the game if I did play it. You probably know what I mean...lol
Anyone that thinks that was an exciting game didn't watch most of the regular season or the other bowls. There were much better games than the slopfest shown tonight.
TCU got robbed...
This game solidified my belief that the Heisman should be voted on AFTER all bowl games are finished. Andrew Luck would have won, were that the case.
By the way,Luck was the runner up for the Heisman and the Rhodes Scholarship in the same year, talk about mediocrity
Andrew Luck was not a finalist for the Rhodes Scholarship... you have to be in you last year of school and have to have great grades to even be able to apply.
If I had to watch ACC or Big 10 football every weekend in the fall, I think I'd kill myself.
I was watching Luck's highlights the other day, and I hate to say it but he is pretty good. I've become skeptical of the way the media jumps on these quarterbacks like they are the next coming (a la Matt Leinart and almost every college QB of that generation), but Luck does have all the tools.
And despite what some would consider a "poor performance," if anybody paid close attention to another Heisman candidate, LaMichael James (I watched a lot of Oregon this year and him and Maehl really jumped out at me). LaMichael's good in between the tackles, has good acceleration, awesome intensity, great receiver out of the backfield and awesome on his blitz pick ups. He's going to be a steal in the draft.
If Oregon ran one more deep handoff, I was going to kill myself
That was the game in a nutshell. Chip Kelly for all his genius, and he had a few moments tonight, really killed them with his stubborness in using that play everytime they needed something to happen.
And to run it out of the gun was just asinine when you're losing the battle up front, you don't give a stronger, bigger line time to set their feet and outmuscle your o-line.
The deep hand off on their own 1 yard line was ridiculous. I lost my shit and got kicked out of the bar. It's 2011 man, throw the goddamn ball.
It was a good NC game in that it was close, but both team played sloppy at times. Oregon had some very questionable play calling that killed them.
I don't think the score reflected how dominant Auburn was.
Btw can someone please defend TCU playing in the NC game, I don't think they had a decent resume to play they had NO quality wins over the regular season. The played excellent in the rose bowl, much better then I expected, but that does not determine your right to play in the NC. Play a great regular season and your in
BTW polls are out
Oregon's trick plays were the exciting part. The first two point conversion, the trick punt followed by that long bomb. The ending field goal was lame but all in all not a bad night.
