bad associates becoming good senior bankers - is attention to detail necessary

as genghis had mentioned before, the transition from associate to vp is the hardest due to the differing skill sets. now i was just thinking that there could be terrible associates that make good senior bankers...

i think that this is possible because some people who just do not have the anal attention to detail could possibly have great strategic minds (and we know that the converse is very very common)... unfortunately the system is rigged such that to advance, your attention to detail must be flawless at the lower levels which is most unfortunate in my opinion... the only way around that in my opinion would be to work somewhere els first beforeo transitioning to obanking at a senior assooc/vp level...
