Baird Equity Research Phone Interview

Hey Everyone,

I have a phone interview coming up with Robert W. Baird. The position I applied for is Equity Research Analyst.
I come from a non-target school, and I am not sure what type of questions I should be expecting to field. I was wondering if anyone had any advice? I will be speaking with an associate. What type of technical/ behavioral questions should I expect.

I would really appreciate any advice!

Is this for Chicago or Milwaukee? I've heard of some stuff like an analytical exam, etc. SAT/ACT scores are also a factor, but if you made it through first round you should be okay in that arena.

Not sure what your first round was like or what kind of contacts you have at the firm, but expect to get grilled on your stock pitch. From my experience, first rounds are generally much more fit and just focused on your interest in the markets, not necessarily how well you can research a company.

did you get this through OCR?

What's OCR? On campus recruiting? Yes, I got my first round through my school's career services office.

I was told that there are more openings for Milwaukee and they have a preference for individuals who want to go to Milwaukee because its their research headquarters.

The analytical exam wasn't too bad and I wasn't grilled to hard about my stock pitch.

I should hear word back from them next week.

During my first round interview, I was told they wanted people with mental fire power. So I was asked to answer a timed math question.

I also pitched him HIS stock- it was a little interesting since he's the top ranked analyst for his sector.

Other than that, it was pretty predictable.
